Behind the scenes video - The making of Songbook
Dedicated to my dear friend and colleague Orville Roach - R.I.E.P
Michael Boothman releases a new album to coincide with Trinidad and Tobago's 59th Independence Day:
SONGBOOK
For Michael, Independence Day is more than the Nation’s birth-day, as he also celebrates his own independence as an artist, now free to create, record and release music through his own studio and recording label at Poui Tree Studios.
SONGBOOK is an eclectic body of work that showcases what orchestral composition adds to Caribbean music, with each track representing one of the various musical styles that inspire him to create music.
“In celebration of our Nation’s independence, and as an independent artist, I’m delighted to present my new album SONGBOOK. The album is a compilation of musical genres with jazz, Latin vibes and most importantly, our national instrument; the Pan”... Michael Boothman
Released on 31st August 2021, the album was recorded in collaboration with Trinbagonian artists;
Clarence “BUNNY” Charles, Isa "ISSA" Abdullah, Orville Roach, Danial Bishop, Genissa St. Hill Aire, Omari ‘SOCO’ Wright, Joshua “SUPAYOUTH” Salcedo, Conrad Roach, Simon Mendoza and Stefan Boothman.
